Is it actually worth it?
Walnut Creek gets written off, and then you eat this burger. It's a griddled two-patty situation with crisped lacy edges, a soft bun that holds, and just enough sauce. At $12 during happy hour it competes with anything in the city at twice the price.
The duck fat fries are the correct side and the deviled eggs are a smarter order than they sound — bright, mustardy, cut through the richness. The cocktails are solid rather than inspired; the margarita is fresh-squeezed, the old fashioned is properly stirred, nobody's reinventing anything.
Three full hours of happy hour is the real luxury. You can leave the office at 4, actually relax, and still be home for dinner if you want to be.
