My Thoughts
Is it actually worth it?
Fifteen minutes from SFO and infinitely better than eating at the airport. I've killed a two-hour layover here more than once and never regretted it.
$2 oysters on the Peninsula is a genuinely good number, and the shucking is careful. The smoked trout dip is the surprise — smoky, creamy, with enough lemon to keep it from getting heavy — and it's the thing I order every time now. Fish and chips are properly crisp with a batter that shatters.
Sixteen taps and a staff who can actually describe them. Not a destination bar, but exactly the right bar for where it is and what it costs.
